Offering a variety of sessions for Elementary, Middle, and Secondary teachers in addition to sessions that focus on ELL students, exceptional learners, media literacy, technology, and updates from NYSED on the new Regents Exam and the Civil Readiness Initiative. Teacher Material Grants  
Three awards of $250 each (Deadline: 9/15/19 for project year 9/1/19 to 5/30/20)  

Travel Grants  
Two awards of $250 (Deadline: 9/15/19)  

Member of the Month 
12 months of recognition, plus eligibility to enter into a raffle for complimentary registration to the NYS TESOL Annual Conference  

Award Nominations   
There are six categories. All winners will receive: Complimentary Conference Registration Hotel Accommodations, Lunch or Dinner at Awards Ceremony, $100 Cash prize (Outstanding Teacher Award)

Important NYSED memo: Immigrant student count date changed to June 10, 2019.

Please see the memo below for an important policy change regarding the collection of immigrant students for 2019-20 ESSA Title III Immigrant Allocations.

The date for immigrant counts will move to June 10, 2019, replacing earlier guidance for counting on October 3, “BEDS Day.” The full NYSED memo can be viewed here.

As a reminder, immigrant children and youth are defined as individuals who: are aged 3 through 21; have not been attending school in any one or more States for more than three (3) full academic years; and were not born in any state.
