The Hudson Valley RBERN is pleased to invite educators to our Bilingual Educators’ Conference! Local educators will highlight the educational expertise happening in their schools and experts in the field will reinforce the value of multilingualism.

We welcome our Keynote speakers:

AM Keynote: "I Like to Use My Bilingual Brain": Translanguaging Away from Raciolinguistic Ideologies in Bilingual Education, Nelson Flores, Ph.D., Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania

PM Keynote: Deficits, Discourse, and Doing, Mario Palma, Vice President of Multilingual Teaching and Learning, American Reading Company

In addition to the Keynote speakers, we will also have several AM and PM breakout sessions/workshops provided by leaders in bilingual education around New York State. To view the breakout session descriptions please click here.

Lunch: 12:00 - 1:00 pm
Afternoon Keynote: 1:05 - 2:05 pm
Afternoon Breakout Session: 2:15 - 3:15 pm

The due date for this year’s district submission of the Comprehensive ELL Education Plan (CEEP) is today, October 15th. Information about this year’s CEEP can be found at this link. Copies of the CEEP must be maintained in the district office and in each school's main office and be made available upon request.
