Greetings! We appreciate everyone who has taken the time to fill out our 2019-2020 Satisfaction Survey. If you have not and would like to, here is the link. Please share it with your colleagues.

Reopening of Schools

Our Summer ELL Connection Thursday, scheduled for August 13th from 1-2:30 PM, will include review and discussion of the latest guidance for reopening schools, with particular focus on Progress Monitoring of ELLs. During the meeting, we will also use breakout rooms to focus on elementary and secondary issues.

We welcome participants who were unable to join us for our July ELL Connection Thursday. Click here to register.

If your school uses a progress monitoring tool with ELLs which you would like to share during this session, please reach out to Kathy Lowell, klowell@swboces.org.

We are creating a repository where districts can share their plans on how they are going to support ELLs as schools reopen. It is our intent to utilize the reach of our network to make plans available to other districts, as a way to support each other in these unprecedented and challenging times. If you would like to share, please complete the following survey.

There are several Guidance for Reopening Schools documents available. As districts generate their plans, these documents are helpful. We have highlighted the documents or sections of documents that pertain to Bilingual Education, instruction of students who are English Language Learners, and World Languages.
