This workshop will equip classroom teachers with practical and engaging vocabulary routines to support English Language Learners in all content areas. Participants will learn strategies to build vocabulary knowledge, enhance comprehension, foster retention, and develop oral language: how to select keywords from tiered vocabulary for direct instruction and word learning strategies in morphology, context clues, cognate awareness, and creating opportunities for authentic language use. Teachers will develop a consistent approach for incorporating vocabulary instruction as a daily part of routines that foster listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English.
Participants should bring a device to access workshop materials.
