This workshop provides educators with a foundational understanding of the intersection of special education and English Language Learner (ELL) services within the context of New York State's Commissioners' Regulations Part 154 and Part 200. Understand Legal Requirements: Gain insights into relevant laws and regulations, the ELL Identification: Policies, procedures, and best practices.

Considerations for providing effective delivery of services through general and special education programs. Leverage Student Strengths and Identify Student Needs: Accommodations to provide access and build on students' existing skills. Developing an IEP that captures the strengths, skills, and resources that students possess when they come into our district.

Participants should bring a device to access workshop materials.
