Join us for the Hudson Valley Learning Exchange Visits, where districts across the region will come together to learn from each other's programs and approaches. Each visit focuses on a specific topic, offering opportunities for both visiting and hosting districts to share ideas, ask questions, and exchange valuable feedback. These visits are designed to foster collaboration and inspire new insights that can enhance programs across the Hudson Valley.
Suffern CSD has launched an instructional approach in its K-2 Dual Language program to more intentionally meet the needs of multilingual learners. This visit will highlight the implementation of Biliteracy Stations, a student-centered framework grounded in data-informed decision-making, responsive instruction, and strengthened collaboration between Dual Language and ENL teachers. Participants will observe a dedicated instructional block designed to target specific student needs using MCLASS data, identified language strengths, and targeted skill goals.
The visit will take place across two school sites, with participant groups split between schools for classroom observations. Participant group assignments will be emailed before the visit. All participants will reconvene at the district office following classroom visits for a facilitated debrief. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The visit will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
