Join us for the Hudson Valley Learning Exchange Visits, where districts across the region will come together to learn from each other's programs and approaches. Each visit focuses on a specific topic, offering opportunities for both visiting and hosting districts to share ideas, ask questions, and exchange valuable feedback. These visits are designed to foster collaboration and inspire new insights that can enhance programs across the Hudson Valley.
Join us for a visit to Peekskill's Hillcrest Elementary to explore its Grades 4-5 Dual Language Program, which builds bilingualism, biliteracy, and cross-cultural competence through a 50/50 English-Spanish model. This visit will focus on curriculum and instruction, highlighting the use of ARC resources and the bridging strategy as defined by the Center for Teaching for Biliteracy. Participants will see how students develop strong academic skills while learning in two languages, and how teachers implement both one-way and two-way dual language models to meet the needs of diverse learners.
