Dynamic Partnerships for Multilingual Learner Success
This professional learning series, between the PNW BOCES School Library System and the Hudson Valley Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network (HV RBERN), supports collaboration between school librarians and educators from the same school/district. Through collaborative design, teams will create or enhance sustainable literacy-rich initiatives that support multilingual learners and foster meaningful family engagement. Participants should register and attend as a school-based team.
Session 1 - Newcomers to the series - October 6, 8:30-2:30 PM; Returning partnerships - October 6, 12:30-2:30 PM: Discover & Define
New partnerships/teams will build a shared understanding of each other's roles and review exemplary projects. All participants will receive planning support, access to family engagement and funding resources, and dedicated collaborative work time to identify student and family needs and define a challenge/focus area to guide their work.
Session 2 - January 26, 8:30-2:30 PM: Feedback & Refine
Participants will actively develop project components through structured planning, peer feedback, and revision with support from SLS and HV RBERN staff.
Session 3 - March 16, 8:30-2:30 PM: Showcase & Sustain
Participants will share their projects, reflect on their experiences, and develop sustainability plans to expand collaborative literacy opportunities for multilingual learners and families.
Participants should bring a device to access workshop materials.
