Dynamic Partnerships for Multilingual Learner Success
This professional learning series, offered in collaboration between the SWBOCES School Library System and the Hudson Valley Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network (HV RBERN), is designed to strengthen collaboration between School Librarians and ENL educators from the same school or district. Participants should register and attend as a partnership or team.

Through a collaborative design process, teams will create and/or expand a literacy-rich event/initiative that supports multilingual learners and fosters meaningful family engagement. Participants will explore student and family needs, build successful partnerships, engage in feedback and revision, and develop plans for sustainable collaboration.

Session 1 - Newcomers to the series - October 30, 8:30-2:30 PM; Returning partnerships - October 30, 12:30-2:30 PM: Discover & Define
New partnerships/teams will build a shared understanding of each other's roles, analyze exemplary projects. All participants will receive planning support, access to family engagement and funding resources, and dedicated collaborative work time to identify student and family needs and define a challenge or focus area to guide their work.

Session 2 - February 5, 8:30-2:30 PM: Feedback & Refine
Participants will actively develop project components through structured planning, peer feedback, and revision with support from SLS and HV RBERN staff.

Session 3 - May 28, 8:30-2:30 PM: Showcase & Sustain
Participants will share their projects, reflect on their experiences, and develop sustainability plans to continue and expand collaborative literacy opportunities for multilingual learners and families.

Participants should bring a device to access workshop materials and collaborative planning resources.
