As artificial intelligence becomes more embedded in our classrooms and creative work, educators face an urgent need to understand how these tools function-and where they fall short. This interactive session explores how AI text and image generators, as well as Educational AI tools, reflect and reinforce cultural biases embedded in the data they are trained on.
Participants will:
Learn how generative AI models work, including popular tools and how they're trained
Examine real examples of biased outputs from AI text and image generators
Explore the ethical and educational implications of AI-generated content
Engage in activities to analyze outputs and develop more inclusive prompts
Discuss how to use generative AI responsibly to reflect diverse student identities and experiences
Whether you're a classroom teacher, instructional coach, or school leader, this workshop will leave you better equipped to critically and creatively integrate AI into your educational practice-with equity at the forefront.
To access this virtual session, a Zoom link will be shared with registered participants the day before to email addresses used to enroll in Frontline (MLP).
