This 1/2 day workshop will give you a taste of A Dynamic Duo: ENL Teachers & School Librarians, a partnership series between the School Library System and the Hudson Valley RBERN. It is designed to promote partnerships between ENL teachers and school librarians from the same school.
It is ideal if these partners register together for this workshop, but it is not required. Participants will be provided with strategies to help them develop a strong foundation for a successful partnership and hear about the special end-of-year events for ELL students that are the culmination of the full series.
Dutchess BOCES will host the full series in the 2024-2025 school year. This culminating activity has a literacy focus while recognizing students' achievements. School librarians and ENL teachers working together can provide powerful learning opportunities for English Language Learners and their families. We invite you to attend this session to learn more about each other's expertise and begin building a new partnership that benefits your ELLs. In addition, discussions will be had about accessible materials and parent partnerships. The session will be focused on understanding who ELLs are and how ENL teachers and Librarians support ELLs, exploring instructional strategies and ways to build a partnership with families
