Session 1: Foundations of Advanced Literacies
Participants will learn the basics of Advanced Literacies and its four hallmarks with key tools and strategies for integrating advanced literacy practices into Social Studies.
Session 2: Strategies for Incorporating the Hallmarks in Social Studies - Part 1
Participants will learn strategies to incorporate the Hallmarks of Advanced Literacies into Social Studies instruction.
Session 3: Strategies for Incorporating the Hallmarks in Social Studies - Part 2
Participants will learn strategies to incorporate the Hallmarks of Advanced Literacies into Social Studies instruction.
Session 4: Organizing our Learning into a Knowledge-Building Social Studies Unit Cycle
In this session, participants will learn to organize newly acquired strategies into a Knowledge-Building Unit Cycle with a culminating Language Production Project.
To access the virtual workshops, a Zoom link will be shared with registered participants to the email addresses they used to enroll in Frontline (MLP).
This series is open to the entire Hudson Valley Region.
