Strategies for Teaching Assistants Who Support ELLs - FOR OSSINING UFSD TEACHING ASSISTANTS ONLY - SYNCHRONOUS SESSION - via ZOOM

Teaching Assistants play an integral role in supporting students throughout school settings making connections to students, helping them feel comfortable, and reinforcing routines and instruction. English Language Learners (ELLs) in our classrooms benefit from specialized support to help them reach instructional goals while gaining proficiency in English. As a result of this virtual, synchronous workshop, Teaching Assistants will gain understanding about the stages of language acquisition and the role of the student's home language, and will explore strategies for supporting ELLs with acclimation to school routines, developing communication skills in English, and reinforcing instruction.

Level III Teaching Assistants can earn 2 CTLE credits for participation in this workshop.
