  • Southern Westchester BOCES, 3rd Floor 450 Mamaroneck Avenue Harrison, NY, 10528 United States (map)

What steps do school and district leaders need to take to ensure ELL/MLL learner access to the Next Generation Standards? In this workshop, school and district leaders will learn how to take action regarding the Advanced Literacy Briefs on Linguistically Diverse Learners, released along with the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards. This workshop will define and explore the skills and competencies that enable the achievement of linguistically diverse students in literacy. Participants will evaluate current structures for the existence of Advanced Literacy Hallmarks, using a tool developed to gauge effectiveness of curriculum, materials, instruction and professional development.

*NOTE: In an effort to move toward environmental consciousness, please be aware that this is a PAPERLESS workshop. In order to access the presentation materials, participants should bring a device of their choosing (i.e. laptop, tablet, Chromebook).
