How long does it take for a student who is an English learner to learn English? Participants in this workshop will develop an understanding about what students at varying levels of proficiency are able to do and what scaffolds and supports educators can provide to make the instruction accessible to ELLs. This workshop will include an overview of the ELL identification process and will consider such ELL-related student factors as social-emotional needs, prior educational experiences (or lack thereof), and parental engagement.
This workshop will start promptly at 9am. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
